ASUS has unveiled four new limited-edition models in its Zenbook laptop series, all constructed using its proprietary Ceraluminum technology, a lightweight material developed internally by the business.

The Ceraluminum Signature Edition line consists of four computers in hues inspired by Earth's most stunning landscapes, with influence from locations such as Jordan's Wadi Rum and Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives. The collection’s organic colour palette purportedly embodies nature’s unrefined beauty. It includes an all-black model with a textured surface resembling black volcanic rock, referred to by ASUS as “Obsidian Black.” Additionally, there is a deep blue variant adorned with luminous dots, named “Luminous Blue,” which emulates the bioluminescent plankton illuminating the shores of Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives. A “Pamukkale White” option, speckled with gold, evokes the mineral-rich waters cascading down the white rock hills of Pamukkale, Turkey. Lastly, the chocolate brown hue, termed “Terra Mocha,” draws inspiration from the sandstone and granite formations of Jordan’s Wadi Rum, known as the “Valley of the Moon,” a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring numerous petroglyphs from prehistoric civilisations.

Ceraluminum, a fusion of ceramic and aluminium, represents one of ASUS' most recent material developments. It was developed by the business as an alternative to fully metallic or plastic laptops, purportedly amalgamating the optimal attributes of both materials. ASUS characterises Ceraluminum as “a patented technology that combines the lightweight properties of metal with the durability of ceramics,” asserting that it is produced by bonding ceramic (“ceramizing”) with aluminium. In our experience with a newly released Ceraluminum-body ASUS Zenbook, we found the laptop to be exceptionally lightweight and resilient, capable of enduring the rigours of being in a commuter backpack.

ASUS has yet to disclose a debut date for its new range.
